Terms of Service
last updated 2 October 2026
who we are
Chronicle is offered by Waffol, a sole trader in the Netherlands. Contact: martgeluk11@gmail.com. Dutch law applies, but this never takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the EU country where you live.
the agreement
By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Chronicle.
your account
You need a valid email address and you are responsible for keeping your login safe. One person per account. Chronicle is meant for people aged 16 and over; younger people need permission from a parent or guardian. Tell us if you think someone else has access.
your writing stays yours
Everything you write and every photo you add belongs to you. You give Waffol only the permission needed to store it, show it back to you and process it to produce your journal page and recaps. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
fair use
Do not use Chronicle for anything unlawful, do not upload material you have no right to use, and do not try to break into the service or other people's accounts.
the paid archive
The archive is an optional one-off purchase of €0.99, paid through PayPal. After payment we switch archive access on for your account, usually within a day.
As an EU consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Email us within 14 days of paying and we refund you in full, without needing a reason. Your statutory rights for a service that does not work as promised always apply as well. Paying via PayPal does not change any of these rights.
availability
We try to keep Chronicle running and your writing safe, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable. You can download a copy of your data at any time from the "your data" page.
not advice
Chronicle is a journal, not therapy or medical care. If you are struggling, please contact a professional or a local support line.
ending it
You can delete your account yourself at any time on the "your data" page; this removes your journal straight away. We may close an account that seriously breaks these terms, and will tell you why.
changes
When these terms change meaningfully, the date above changes and Chronicle asks you to accept the new version before you continue.
